The American Union of Swedish Singers (AUSS) was organized over 125 years ago at the height of the immigration years, forming choruses in America to sing the songs they remembered and loved from their homeland. Today there are about 500 members in 22 choruses from coast to coast. Members participate in singing tours of Sweden and Scandinavia, as well as a national conference every 3 years.
Immortal Performances, a Canadian non-profit, federally chartered organization established in 1980 offers important operatic and symphonic broadcasts (1930-1970) in CD sets which include extensive articles, rare photos and artist biographies. The organization is regarded as one of the world's premier presenters of classical voice recitals, with a roster which now includes dozens of world-class singers. Performing in The Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. it has become a vital force in the cultural life of the Washington, D. C. metropolitan area.
The Vocal Record Collectors Society (VRCS) is an international organization of opera lovers and/or record collectors that has met in New York City for voice-based programs on a monthly basis since 1956, and which issues an annual CD of previously un-reissued 78 rpm recordings to all paid-up members.
